BS Monday Tournament
The flexible tournament is well under way with 5 out of the 20 nights played. Although the entry list is down on last year it is encouraging to see players from a number of Belfast clubs, including Ballynafeigh, Lagan, Fisherwick and Civil Services. Belfast South players also continue to support the event in force. With players ratings currently ranging from 1656 to 863 it is difficult to predict the likely winners there is a noticeable competitive spirit among players vying for the top and grading prizes. The "best game" prizes have attracted also several entries so far and the winning game for the pre-Xmas session will be submitted to the UCU for publication.
There is still time for more players to join the tournament organisers welcome more players regardless of their playing strength as this would give a boost to the competition. So come along on Monday evening and enjoy competitive chess in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
