Youngsters do well at top Ireland tournament
Chess for All with support from The Community Foundation for Ireland are setting up an all-encompassing schools chess programme. The aim is to ensure that every pupil is given an opportunity to play chess on a regular basis. For more information Chess for All
As part of this exciting project Chess For All ran the tournament : Tournament of Champions 2013
,Leopardstown Racecourse, Dublin on 23rd March. This was full with 500 places booked but unfortunately due to bad weather and snow not all players could make the journey.
Two of the younger players from Childrens Chess travelled down to Dublin. Brother and Sister, Daniel and Dayna Ferguson.
Dayna played the eventual winner in the final round of the tournament and could have won the tournament but unfortunately lost gaining 5.5 points out of 7 and coming an admirable joint 4th Place:

The younger Daniel Ferguson played in the same section and so against older players. Got an excellent 4 out of 7 points.
