New format for 2010 Ulster Championships
The Ulster Championships are once again being held in the Europa Hotel, Belfast but with a new format.

55 players have entered for this year's Championships, the biggest number in an Ulster Chess Union event since the 2001 Target Recruitment International Open.

Ulster Rapidplay Championship prizewinners
Since the move of the Ulster Championship proper to a warmer time of year in 2005, the rapidplay version has been habitually held over the holiday season. This season the event was held on the 2nd January 2011 at its usual venue, the Belfast Boat Club.
