Last weekend 234 players, 33 from the North, took part in one of the biggest ever chess congresses in Ireland, the "City of Dublin". Northern successes were:
- joint second in the Premier event for D. Houston and K. Allen
- D. Blair co-winner of the Senior in which G. McCormick and D. McGill were joint third
- joint second in the Intermediate for D. Truesdale and P. McKeown, while M. Kelly took the grading prize
Today's game has an "agreeable" finish
